El principio
El Proyecto Lázaro es la manifestación de un sueño sostenido por cuatro hermanos. En 2021, dos hermanos estaban de vacaciones en República Dominicana para una 'reunión de hermanos'. Los hermanos se conocieron originalmente cuando tenían unos 10 años en la ciudad de Nueva York. Todos eran hijos de padres dominicanos.

NUESTRA FILOSOFÍA
A recent statement by insightcrime.org states, “Despite being often overlooked, organized crime groups in the Dominican Republic have powerful transnational links that have made them players in the international drug trade.” It comes as no surprise that whenever drugs are being shipped through a country, it’s not uncommon to divert some of the drugs for use by the local population. Such activity has had a detrimental effect on the Dominican population – especially its youth.

the solution
This situation is why The Lazarus Project of Dominican Republic has decided to join local efforts to help Dominican youths overcome the harmful effects of drug addiction. We have made it our mission to restore physical, mental, and spiritual health to those suffering from drug addiction. Our vision is to develop a new 48-bed in-patient drug rehabilitation center serving domestic and international teens in the Dominican Republic. The center will offer Rehabilitation Therapy, Detoxification Services, Evidence-Based Interventions, Short/Long Term Care, Academic Tutoring, English Classes, Computer Classes, and Gardening Activities.

El Proyecto Lazarus cree en un enfoque holístico de la terapia de rehabilitación de drogas. Nuestro objetivo es ofrecer la mejor terapia basada en la evidencia combinada con terapia física y espiritual. ¡Creemos que estos tres componentes juntos ayudarán a nuestros clientes a encontrar una vida nueva y sostenible libre de drogas! Como parte del plan de estudios, ofreceremos a nuestros clientes oportunidades para participar en actividades de jardinería y otras actividades físicas. Nuestros clientes tendrán la oportunidad de adquirir habilidades comercializables a través de nuestras clases de inglés y nuestras clases de tecnología informática para prepararlos mejor para obtener un empleo significativo después de completar nuestro programa.
